Lately I’ve somehow got it into my head that I want to try out the PS1DRV exploit and run some arbitrary code on my Playstation 2 sans modchip. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone with a modded PS2 to get the exploit onto a memory card. I do, however, know someone with a chipped PS1. Since the exploit only requires the ability to write to a PS1 memory card, it appears that should be all I need.

Those of you who came here from my Livejournal have already seen this post, about a critical component for my Game Engine Engine. I would like to talk about this idea for a few minutes.

So, basically, what this project amounts to, is to create an environment in which plug-in modules allow any type of code to run and interact with each other.   • GEE, the Game Engine Engine (No URL yet, since there’s no code, just an ever-evolving design in my head, in some text files, and on my mini tape recorder)
  • My CompSci honours thesis, which involves investigating the feasability of using a strongly-typed functional language to write hard realtime low-level device drivers, with tools that are available now. Because I’m crazy.
  • The 4th year industrial project, wherein me and two others write an RTOS for Lego Mindstorms.
